1. Acquisition of audio signals
Current digital audio recordings are usually available in two options: one is a digital mixing console, a recording system consisting of a multi-track hard disk recorder and other digital peripheral aids; the other is centered on a computer workstation. An audio workstation recording system consisting of recording software and digital interface and various effects plug-ins. The advantage of the former is that the operation is straightforward, and basically follows the working mode of the sound engineer in the analog era. The disadvantage is that the editing processing function is limited. The advantage of the latter is that the editing function is powerful, which is conducive to popularization, but the processing effect and stability of the system are not as good as the former.
A digital audio recording acquisition device is actually a set of digital signal processing systems. The sound obtained from nature is usually an analog audio signal. When it is processed by a digital signal processing system, the analog signal needs to be first converted into a digital signal, that is, A/D conversion.
2. Transmission of audio signals
There are two transmission methods for audio signals, namely, ground-balanced and unbalanced (single-ended ground). The balanced signal transmission line is not easily interfered by external hum, other crosstalk and electrical equipment noise. Unbalanced is susceptible to interference, so balanced transmission is generally used in the professional field. In consideration of the cost problem in the project, some civilian-grade equipment will be used relatively, and most of them use unbalanced transmission.
3. Sound reinforcement of audio signals
The sound reinforcement system means that the language, music, etc. are received by the microphone, amplified by the amplifier, and then played by the speaker in the same space. It is generally used in a space with a large volume or strong background noise to compensate for the lack of natural sound loudness and improve the signal to noise ratio. Meeting rooms, multi-purpose halls, auditoriums, theaters, etc. are examples of this type. This system has acoustic feedback and room resonance bows | whistling, distortion and oscillation due to the same sound field in the speaker and microphone. Effectively controlling the acoustic feedback and giving full play to the performance of the sound reinforcement system is the primary problem that must be solved.
3. Replay of audio signals
The playback system refers to a playback signal of a sound source device such as a tape drive or a CD player that is played back by sound, amplified, and played by a speaker. There is no microphone, there is no acoustic feedback problem in this system, and the acoustic feedback coefficient is 0. Movie sounds, background music, etc. belong to this category.
